  The Zambia Men’s Under-17 National Team will this afternoon begin its quest to defend the COSAFA Championship title with a Group B fixture against the Comoros Islands. Zambia coach George Chilufya says his technical bench has outlined straightforward objectives for the COSAFA outing which include starting off with a win. “The first game is always important in the tournament; we are not taking Comoros as a lightweight. We will give them the respect that they deserve, and will always take this game very serious,” Chilufya said. The team which commenced preparations for the 2020 Cosafa tournament slated for South Africa next was taken through the paces by Coach Kaluba at Barca Academy. Kaluba said he has roped in half of the players from the 2019 inaugural Cosafa tournament while the other half comprised first timers. He noted that most of the players were not in good shape arising from the Covid-19 induced break from all football activities. “The majority of the players are not in good shape. We all know the reason, the league has not been active due to the Covid challenge.  We could see that the majority of our girls are struggling,” he said. “From the list we have, we have half the team from last year and the other team is new.
