Enock Mwepu describes the Africa Cup of Nations as a powerful force uniting Africa

  Zambia National Team midfielder Enock Mwepu has described the Africa Cup of Nations as a powerful force that unites the entire African continent. In an interview with Albion TV, Mwepu says the AFCON provides the chance to African players to showcase their talent at the biggest tournament, which is the every player’s tournament to play in. The Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder is confident the current crop of Chipolopolo players will make it to the Africa Cup of Nations in the near future but will need to work hard so that they can qualify and compete at the tournament. Mwepu says despite failing, the team must be lessons from the failure to qualify and remain united so that they can realize the dream of featuring at the Africa Cup.

FAZ president says playing in the rainy season presents clubs an opportunity to improve infrastructure

  Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president says playing league games in the rainy season has presented an opportunity to clubs to work on their infrastructure. In his weekly president’s corner, Andrew Kamanga says it is regrettable that clubs have not been aggressively responsive in ensuring that infrastructure is upgraded to match up the level of exposure they have had playing on the continent. “Rather, than complain about playing our games in the rainy season we must take up the challenge as an opportunity to work on our infrastructure,” Kamanga said.  “It is regrettable that our clubs have not been aggressively responsive in ensuring that infrastructure is upgraded to match up the level of exposure they have had playing on the continent,” he added.   ZESCO United head coach Numba Mumamba could not hide his disgust with the level of officiating which has continued to dominate the Zambian game. The gaffer has appealed to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Referees Department to do introspection into the standard of refereeing in the country. In an interview after his side’s 3-nil defeat to Prison Leopards 3-0, Numba Mumamba urged the FAZ Referees manager and his people need to take a great look at how their officials are managing the games. Copper Queens to face South Africa and Kenya in international friendly matches

  The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has secured two international friendly matches for the Copper Queens as part of intensified preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In a statement, the Association has revealed that Zambia will play South Africa on April 10, 2021 in Johannesburg at Milpark Stadium before hosting the Harambee Starlets of Kenya this month end. FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says the two friendly matches will help the technical bench gauge the strength of the squad. Tripple M Stars and RM Soccer Academy emerge as Champions for the 2021 Ndola Open Tourney

  The "pride of Twapya' township as they call themselves, on Monday scooped the 2021 Ndola Youth League Open Tournament in the under 20 Category as they beat Young Indeni via a thrilling 13-12 penalty shoot out. This was after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time. It was Tripple M Stars who scored first in the 32' through the flexible Akba Ahmed before Young Indeni equalised through a beautiful header by intelligent Kafula Kaisi Midway in the second half. Chipolopolo's quest for maiden FIFA WC spot starts in Mauritania

  Zambia will begin their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualification campaign with an away match to Mauritania in June and wind up their campaign on the road away to Tunisia. According to FAZ Media, Match Day 1 for Chipolopolo, who are in Group B, will see them travelling to Mauritania in the first weekend of June before hosting Tunisia a week later. Game three of six in the group will be a trip to face Equatorial Guinea between September 1-4 before a return fixture against the Nzalang Nacional between 5 th and 7 th September. According to the consolidated fixture, Chipolopolo’s penultimate match in Group B is set to be staged at home to Mauritania between October 6-9, while the final game of the campaign is against Tunisia between 10 and 12 October, 2021. 2020 Olympic Games: Copper Queens enter camp to commence preparations

Zambia National Women’s Team coach Bruce Mwape has summoned 27 players to report to camp today to begin preparations for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Copper Queens Coach Mwape has also summoned skipper Barbara Banda who leads a number of familiar names in the squad, with the majority of them that played a role in qualifying the country to the global showpiece for the first time in the country’s history, all making it. FAZ Suspends Forest Rangers Goalkeeping Coach Over Unsporting Conduct

  The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has suspended Forest Rangers Football Club goalkeeping coach Charles Chileshe for unsporting conduct during a FAZ/MTN Super Division Week 13 fixture between Prison Leopards and Forest Rangers at President Stadium in Kabwe on Saturday. According to a statement, FAZ deputy General Secretary Joseph Chimpapwe said in a letter dated 18th January 2021 addressed to the Forest Rangers that Chileshe’s action of sprinkling an unknown substance in goal and urinating or simulation of urinating against one of the goalposts acted in a manner that is not consistent with the values and integrity of football as espoused by FIFA, CAF and FAZ. “His actions have without doubt brought the name of the game into disrepute and therefore we have no option but to suspend Mr. Chileshe’s registration for the 2020/2021 season and his case shall be decided by the appropriate FAZ judicial body,” read Chimpampwe’s statement in part.   Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President  Andrew Kamanga  has urged the team die a little for the nation. According to FAZ Media Kamanga who is also part of the CAF organizing committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) has urged the players to look beyond the tournament and seek to earn places in forthcoming Africa Cup and World Cup qualifiers.   Chipolopolo coach Milutin Sredojevic has called on his players not to be carried away by the 2-1 win first leg victory over Botswana in the Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday evening. The team which commenced preparations for the 2020 Cosafa tournament slated for South Africa next was taken through the paces by Coach Kaluba at Barca Academy. Kaluba said he has roped in half of the players from the 2019 inaugural Cosafa tournament while the other half comprised first timers. FIFA stakeholders meeting fails to take off

  The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced that the scheduled meeting with FIFA and the aggrieved parties has been postponed to a later date. In a statement obtained by ZSL News Blog, FAZ said all the parties including Minister of Sports Emmanuel Mulenga, National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) chairperson Patrick Mutimushi and FAZ president Andrew Kamanga were set for the meeting but the aggrieved parties were not available for the engagement. The Association has disclosed that following the absence of the aggrieved parties, FIFA Chief Member Veron Mosengo-Omba Associations announced that the meeting had been deferred to a later date. FIFA had set Tuesday, September 1, 2020 as the date for the resolution of the FAZ wrangles surrounding the electoral process with notice of the virtual meeting sent to all parties on Friday, August 28, 2020 to enable them provide credentials for the access to the meeting.
