FAZ president says playing in the rainy season presents clubs an opportunity to improve infrastructure

  Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president says playing league games in the rainy season has presented an opportunity to clubs to work on their infrastructure. In his weekly president’s corner, Andrew Kamanga says it is regrettable that clubs have not been aggressively responsive in ensuring that infrastructure is upgraded to match up the level of exposure they have had playing on the continent. “Rather, than complain about playing our games in the rainy season we must take up the challenge as an opportunity to work on our infrastructure,” Kamanga said.  “It is regrettable that our clubs have not been aggressively responsive in ensuring that infrastructure is upgraded to match up the level of exposure they have had playing on the continent,” he added. FAZ Suspends Forest Rangers Goalkeeping Coach Over Unsporting Conduct

  The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has suspended Forest Rangers Football Club goalkeeping coach Charles Chileshe for unsporting conduct during a FAZ/MTN Super Division Week 13 fixture between Prison Leopards and Forest Rangers at President Stadium in Kabwe on Saturday. According to a statement, FAZ deputy General Secretary Joseph Chimpapwe said in a letter dated 18th January 2021 addressed to the Forest Rangers that Chileshe’s action of sprinkling an unknown substance in goal and urinating or simulation of urinating against one of the goalposts acted in a manner that is not consistent with the values and integrity of football as espoused by FIFA, CAF and FAZ. “His actions have without doubt brought the name of the game into disrepute and therefore we have no option but to suspend Mr. Chileshe’s registration for the 2020/2021 season and his case shall be decided by the appropriate FAZ judicial body,” read Chimpampwe’s statement in part. Napsa Stars Coach Fathi tests Positive for Covid-19

  NAPSA Stars FC head coach Mohamed Fathi has tested positive for COVID-19. Napsa FC Media Officer Gwen Chipasula said in a statement that this was after the team's routine COVID-19 tests which were conducted before the week 13 MTN/FAZ Super League game played against Red Arrows FC on Saturday. Ms. Chipasula revealed that the coach is currently in isolation at home and following health guidelines set by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health. Coach Fathi missed Saturday's game and will also miss Wednesday's clash against Forest Rangers. The Club through its Technical Director/General Manager Honor Janza announced this development on Sunday morning. “We are sad to announce that our Head Coach has tested positive for COVID-19. Prison Leopards signs Nigerian striker

  Kabwe based Super League side Prison Leopards Football Club this Wednesday officially unveiled their new 24-year old Nigerian striker David Obash Mkpa on a three-year deal with the club. According to the club’s media, Obash formerly featured for Tanzanian outfit Mbeya FC Top man had earlier traveled back to his home country for documentation after being one of the successful players who were invited for trials. Obash says his aim at the club is to add more strength to the team and further states that he is eager to do his level best. Meanwhile, the Prison Leopards have since intensified preparations in readiness for this weekend’s crucial encounter against Nkwazi as they seek to bounce back from their one nil defeat at the hands of Indeni FC. U-17 Women National Team start preps for COSAFA

 Lucky Mwewa Chama | 23 September, 2020 Zambia Under-17 Women National team Coach Kangwa Kaluba says his technical bench has summoned 45 players to camp. The team which commenced preparations for the 2020 Cosafa tournament slated for South Africa next was taken through the paces by Coach Kaluba at Barca Academy. Kaluba said he has roped in half of the players from the 2019 inaugural Cosafa tournament while the other half comprised first timers. He noted that most of the players were not in good shape arising from the Covid-19 induced break from all football activities. “The majority of the players are not in good shape. FIFA lifts Nkana’s transfer ban

  Lucky Mwewa Chama | 23 September, 2020 FIFA has lifted a transfer ban imposed on thirteen times Super League champions Nkana Football Club following a dispute with Ghanaian goalkeeper Stephen Adams. In a letter to Nkana FC dated 23 September 2020, FIFA Head of Players’ Status, Erika Montemor Ferreira acknowledged receipt of the communication of the legal representative of the player confirming that the parties involved in the matter have settled the matter. “In this respect, we acknowledge receipt of the communication of the legal representative of the player, by means of which he confirmed that the parties settled the matter. Consequently, we will now proceed to the closure of the present matter. Furthermore, we kindly inform your club that the ban imposed on it in line with the aforementioned decision is now lifted,” read the letter in part. FIFA stakeholders meeting fails to take off

  The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced that the scheduled meeting with FIFA and the aggrieved parties has been postponed to a later date. In a statement obtained by ZSL News Blog, FAZ said all the parties including Minister of Sports Emmanuel Mulenga, National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) chairperson Patrick Mutimushi and FAZ president Andrew Kamanga were set for the meeting but the aggrieved parties were not available for the engagement. The Association has disclosed that following the absence of the aggrieved parties, FIFA Chief Member Veron Mosengo-Omba Associations announced that the meeting had been deferred to a later date. FIFA had set Tuesday, September 1, 2020 as the date for the resolution of the FAZ wrangles surrounding the electoral process with notice of the virtual meeting sent to all parties on Friday, August 28, 2020 to enable them provide credentials for the access to the meeting.
