The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced that the scheduled meeting with FIFA and the aggrieved parties has been postponed to a later date.
In a statement obtained by ZSL News Blog, FAZ said all the parties including Minister of Sports Emmanuel Mulenga, National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) chairperson Patrick Mutimushi and FAZ president Andrew Kamanga were set for the meeting but the aggrieved parties were not available for the engagement.
The Association has disclosed that following the absence of the aggrieved parties, FIFA Chief Member Veron Mosengo-Omba Associations announced that the meeting had been deferred to a later date.
FIFA had set Tuesday, September 1, 2020 as the date for the resolution of the FAZ wrangles surrounding the electoral process with notice of the virtual meeting sent to all parties on Friday, August 28, 2020 to enable them provide credentials for the access to the meeting.
However, the aggrieved parties demanded for more time before they could be ready for the FIFA mediated meeting.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala revealed that the Association will wait for FIFA to set a fresh date.
