Forest Rangers striker Quadri Kola hails Nigeria’s performance against Egypt

  Forest Rangers and Nigerian international, Quadri Kola says he was very happy with his countrymen's performance in Tuesday night's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group D game against Egypt. Speaking to the Club’s media, Kola believes the Super Eagles will go far in the competition if they continue with the same mentality and spirit they exhibited in their opening match against Egypt. Kola believes the Super Eagles of Nigeria are one of the favorites to win the Africa Cup of Nations which is currently underway in Cameroon. "Looking at how the Super Eagles played last night, I think if they continue playing like that with the same mentality and spirit throughout the tournament, they are already 80% on their way to winning the AFCON," Kola said. Nigeria started their AFCON campaign on a bright note following a 1-0 triumph over Egypt thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho volley in the 30 th minute which was enough to sink the Pharaohs.

Enock Mwepu describes the Africa Cup of Nations as a powerful force uniting Africa

  Zambia National Team midfielder Enock Mwepu has described the Africa Cup of Nations as a powerful force that unites the entire African continent. In an interview with Albion TV, Mwepu says the AFCON provides the chance to African players to showcase their talent at the biggest tournament, which is the every player’s tournament to play in. The Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder is confident the current crop of Chipolopolo players will make it to the Africa Cup of Nations in the near future but will need to work hard so that they can qualify and compete at the tournament. Mwepu says despite failing, the team must be lessons from the failure to qualify and remain united so that they can realize the dream of featuring at the Africa Cup.

Chipolopolo's quest for maiden FIFA WC spot starts in Mauritania

  Zambia will begin their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualification campaign with an away match to Mauritania in June and wind up their campaign on the road away to Tunisia. According to FAZ Media, Match Day 1 for Chipolopolo, who are in Group B, will see them travelling to Mauritania in the first weekend of June before hosting Tunisia a week later. Game three of six in the group will be a trip to face Equatorial Guinea between September 1-4 before a return fixture against the Nzalang Nacional between 5 th and 7 th September. According to the consolidated fixture, Chipolopolo’s penultimate match in Group B is set to be staged at home to Mauritania between October 6-9, while the final game of the campaign is against Tunisia between 10 and 12 October, 2021.   Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President  Andrew Kamanga  has urged the team die a little for the nation. According to FAZ Media Kamanga who is also part of the CAF organizing committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) has urged the players to look beyond the tournament and seek to earn places in forthcoming Africa Cup and World Cup qualifiers. Kamanga said the level of preparation the squad was accorded put them in good stead to do better at the tournament in Cameroon. “ So those who will do well have an opportunity to go into professional football. But most importantly also as an executive we have made sure that the team which is participating here is critical because we have other engagements beyond this tournament. In March we are back with the AFCON qualifiers we play Algeria and Zimbabwe away and after that in June we have World Cup qualifiers. Don't be carried away - Micho urges Chipolopolo players

  Chipolopolo coach Milutin Sredojevic has called on his players not to be carried away by the 2-1 win first leg victory over Botswana in the Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday evening. Speaking in a post-match conference, Micho said there is no need to be over-confident but is full of belief in the work his technical bench and the players are doing to ensure Zambia gets another important win in the qualification process. “We are fully aware where we have been. CAF finalizes 2020/21 Interclubs calendar

  The calendar for the 2020/21 Interclubs season has been finalized. Engagement window: 1 September – 20 October 2020 Member Associations (MA) are requested to register their representatives on the CAF Content Management System (CMS) guided by the following scenarios; - For MA’s that completed the 2019/20 season, the engaged teams shall be the teams qualified from their national competitions for 2019/20 in accordance with the criteria of engagement as stated in Articles 2 and 3 Chapter 4 of the regulations. - For MAs that did not complete the 2019/20 season but set a criteria to classify the teams or homologate the standings in the national competitions for 2019/20, the engaged teams shall be the teams qualified from the national competitions 2019/20 in accordance with the criteria of engagement as stated in Articles 2 and 3 Chapter 4 of the regulations. - For MAs that could not complete the 2019/20 season and considered the season canceled, the engaged teams will be the ...
