2020 Olympic Games: Copper Queens enter camp to commence preparations

Zambia National Women’s Team coach Bruce Mwape has summoned 27 players to report to camp today to begin preparations for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Copper Queens Coach Mwape has also summoned skipper Barbara Banda who leads a number of familiar names in the squad, with the majority of them that played a role in qualifying the country to the global showpiece for the first time in the country’s history, all making it.

Mwape has kept faith in some experienced players who helped the team qualify with some notable figures being the Green Buffaloes trio of Anita Mulenga, Martha Tembo and Lushomo Mweemba.

Other experienced senior Copper Queens regulars include Judith Zulu of Green Buffaloes, Mary Mulenga, Mary Wilombe both from Red Arrows and Indeni Roses midfielder Misozi Zulu.



The Olympics will officially run between 24 July and 9 August 2021, but sporting action kicks off two days before the opening ceremony with preliminary women’s football matches set to light up the occasion for various sports disciplines.

PRISON LEOPARDS FOOTBALL CLUB UNVEILS REDESIGNED LOGO

Kabwe based National Division side Prison Leopards Football Club has announced that effected some changes on the Club's logo with immediate effect. According to statement, the Prisons Leopards Media Officer Kingsley Kunda says this is in a bid to align it to its main sponsors the Zambia Correctional Service and as a way of showing identity of the sponsors through the new emblem. The new changes include the replacement of the Leopard with an eagle in an effort to depict the image of both the club and the service and also to rebrand the logo to give it a new outlook.

FIFA lifts Nkana’s transfer ban
