GREEN Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi is confident of a good result in Saturday’s Confederation Cup first round, first leg tie against Burundian club Musongati at Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura.
After a morning work out, Chiyangi said the players are upbeat and at ease despite having been subjected to a COVID-19 test upon arrival at Bujumbura Airport on Monday evening.
Chiyangi, who said he had gone through a lot in African football, said the players were relaxed as they awaited to be swabbed.
He said the mood in camp is positive although they have been training under quarantine since Tuesday.
Chiyangi is also positive that his players, who are used to playing on natural grass in Zambia, will get used to the synthetic turf at Intwari Stadium by Saturday.
He also spoke about the need to break the need to qualify for the group stage of the Confederation Cup in which they are participating for the second time.
Eagles are making their third successive continental appearance.
Chiyangi thanked the Zambia National Service command for the support they have continued to render to Eagles.
He also praised the team’s supporters for being loyal.
Meanwhile, Football Association of Zambia committee member Patrick Ndhlovu is happy with the reception accorded to Green Eagles by their Burundian hosts Musongati ahead of Saturday’s African Confederation Cup first round, first leg encounter at Intwari Stadium.
