KAINDU TASKED WITH STABILIZING TEAM KOPALA

Ndola based Super League side Buildcon FC   have agreed terms with former Power Dynamos Football Club coach Kelvin Kaindu to take charge of the team for the reminder of the season with an option to extend the contract at the end of the campaign. Sources close to the deal reveal that Kaindu as been tasked with the duty of ensuring Team Kopala survives relegation. Kaindu's previous role was assistance coach to Numba Mumamba at Zanaco. At Buildcon he will be assisted by former Zanaco FC midfielder Boyd Mulwanda who will the first assistant. Buildcon have struggled to keep up the pace with the rest of the big guns picking six wins,  seven draws and losing ten times and now fighting for survival in the relegation zone with 25 points.

AC MILAN INTERESTED IN THE SERVICES OF SALZBURG STRIKER PATSON DAKA

By Lucky Mwewa Chama  Zambian striker Patson Daka has attracted interest from Italian giants AC Milan who are considering the 21-year-old as a possible replacement for the towering Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is believed to be on the move. According to calciomercato.com, the Swede could depart the Rossoneri after just six months should he choose not to sign a new deal, and it is believed those in charge at Milan have already drawn up a few contingency plans. Daka who is currently in the books of Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg is among the contingent of strikers AC Milan is closing monitoring for as replacements for Ibrahimovic. Among the names mentioned are Victor Osimhen of Lille who has 18 goals in 38 games, Myron Boadu of AZ Alkmaar with 20 goals in 39 games and Donyell Malen of PSV Eindhoven who scored 17 goals in 25 games before sustaining a knee injury last December. FLASH BACK: NAPSA STARS CROWNED 2012 ABSA CUP WINNERS (BARCLAYS CUP) AFTER BEATING ABA YELLOW 4-2 ON PENALTIES

Napsa Stars won their only ABSA (former Barclays) Cup championship after beating Power Dynamos 4-2 on post-match penalties at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on 17 th November, 2012. The game was decided on penalties after ending 4-4 in extra-time in a dramatic 120 minutes of end-to-end action. Aba Yellow took the lead in the 9th minute through striker Graven Chitalu’s headed goal with Napsa failing to get level midway through the first half when Mike Silyawve’s penalty was pushed away by former Power goalkeeper Joshua Titima. The Pensioners made it 1-1 after Chabusha Malumani headed in the equaliser in the 44th minute to go 1-1 into the break. NAPSA STARS RIGHT BACK AARON KABWE STAYS ON THE SIDELINES

By Lucky Mwewa Chama | 13th March, 2020 Lusaka based Super League side Napsa Stars says right back Aaron Kabwe has stayed out of training this whole week owing to a sprained knee. Napsa Stars Media has revealed that Kabwe missed the club’s last against played in Choma against Green Eagles Football last weekend.  Kabwe is expected to commence training next week in readiness for Napsa Star next assignment which will be the ABSA Cup Quarter-final match against Kabwe Warriors. Napsa Stars won the Absa Cup (Barclays Cup) in 2012 and are currently sitting in second position in the Super League. Muhammad Fathi will be facing his former side Kabwe Warriors who were involved in a friendly match this afternoon against Prison Leopards.

MICHO SUMMONS EIGHT FOREIGN BASED CHIPOLOPOLO STARS

Micho weighed in on the forthcoming back-to-back games against Botswana in the race for the Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. “We will have eight professionals (foreign based) players for the Botswana game but we shall not reveal until their clubs are informed,” he said. “But four will have their last competitive assignments at their clubs this weekend when that is in question we will try and get them to play in the friendly’s against Uganda Mali or Ethiopia not all the games but at least one so that it can help us prepare competitively against Botswana.” Micho led the Chipolopolo in his first assignment at the helm of Zambia in an international friendly match against the Flames of Malawi at Nkoloma Stadium in which Zambia won by a goal to nil courtesy of Collins Sikombe. ...

Zambia Under-17 Girls Settle in Johannesburg

Zambia Under-17 Women's National Team Coach Kaluba Kangwa led the team to its first training session after arriving in Johannesburg ahead of the team's second leg encounter with South Africa on Saturday. Kangwa led the team through the paces at Bidvest Wits University pitch. Zambia plays South Africa on Saturday in the second leg. The first leg ended 2-0 in favor of Zambia.

MICHO CLOSE TO PICKING FINAL AFCON AND CHAN SQUADS

Zambia National Soccer Team coach Milutin Sredojevic says he is closer to having his final teams for the back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana and also the African Nations Championship (CHAN). Micho, who is currently drilling 42 local players says his will trim the current number of players to 30 after this week’s assessment at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium. “We have overall 52 players, 10 of them are absent due to competitive duties and 42 are here, 36 in-field players and six goalkeepers. From this number of 52 we shall go down 24 field players and four goalkeepers that will start next Monday 9th March camp. That will culminate in the match against Malawi that we are playing on Wednesday,” he said. LUMWANA RADIANTS AND ZESCO UNITED FACE OFF IN RESCHEDULED WEEK 20 ENCOUNTER

Defending Super League Champions, ZESCO United will this afternoon take on Lumwana Radiants in a week 20 rescheduled fixture to be held at Lumwana grounds in Solwezi.
