COPPER QUEENS GOALKEEPER SAYS THE TEAM IS MOTIVATED TO BEAT CAMEROON IN OLYMPICS QUALIFIER

Copper Queens shot-stopper says the squad is highly motivated to get over the indomitable lionesses of Cameroon in the final qualifying round of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

speaking in an interview, Hazel Nali said although Cameroon was a highly rated opponent, Zambia had done enough to deserve respect as one of the top two teams on the continent in the Olympic race.

The Green Buffaloes goalie says with good preparations the Copper Queens will triumph over the lionesses of Cameroon.

"Yes Cameroon is a big team, but I believe in football, the one who prepares the most on that particular day gets the result,” she said.
“We played Cameroon in the Cosafa (2018 guest team) and also qualifying stages, they beat us and we beat them I feel we are just on average.”

Nali added: “We just need to prepare very hard, looking at the countries that are out, we have Nigeria, South Africa who are all out. They are considered big teams but on this stage each one is the best. We believe we are going to carry the day as we play Cameroon.”

Zambia will face Cameroon in a two-legged clash with Cameroon in the final Olympic qualification clash with the away tie on March 5 while the home game will be four days later in Lusaka.

Winner over two legs will qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games while the losing team will engage in a play-off with Chile.
