MICHO GETS DOWN TO WORK WITH 64 LOCAL PLAYERS

Chipolopolo coach Milutin Sredojevic has gotten down to work with 64 local players drawn from the Super League and National Division One teams converging in Ndola.

The 64 players have been drawn from nine Super League teams and nine National Division One teams drawn from Copperbelt, Central and North Western provinces.

In the second phase to be hosted in Lusaka, another 64 players drawn from the Super League and National Division One will be run through the mill.

After the two local camps, Micho will zero in on a consolidated batch of local players that will set in motion preparations for the March 26 home tie against Botswana and the away encounter four days later.

The technical bench has split the camps into two with Copperbelt being the meeting point for one half of the country while the other provinces will have their players converge in Lusaka.

Micho will also have an eye on the April 2020 African Nations Championship where Zambia will be among the 16 African countries vying for glory.

Zambia plays Botswana next month in back-to-back fixtures in the race for the Cameroon 2021Africa Cup of Nations.

Micho was appointed as Chipolopolo coach on February 3 on a two-year contract.

He has come with two assistants that comprise his first assistant and goalkeeper trainer while Oswald Mutapa and Stephen Mwansa will be the local gaffers to complete the bench.
