SUPER LEAGUE WEEK 21 FIXTURES, TWO LIVE MATCHES

The Zambian Super League this weekend enters Week 21 with SuperSport showing two lives matches on Saturday and Sunday.

Third placed Nkana Football Club will host second placed Forest Rangers as Kalampa seeks revenge against Fole Malembe who beat them in the reverse fixture played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. The match will be beamed live from Nkana Stadium.

On Sunday, Power Dynamos will play host to Zesco United in the much anticipated encounter as Aba Yellow seek ABSA Cup qualification with a win over defending champions at the Arthur Davies Stadium.

FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA PRESIDENT SAYS ZAMBIA WILL GO BACK TO THE TOP OF THE AFRICAN GAME

Football Association of Zambia President Andrew Kamanga says returning to the summit of the African game would be his priority should he be re-elected next month. “We need to make FAZ financially independent, go back to the Africa Cup in 2021 and go to the World Cup in 2022,” he said. Speaking when he featured on Hot FM’s Hot Breakfast Show, Kamanga said his executive had laid a strong foundation despite not having qualified to the Africa Cup of Nations. “Since we came into office we have won the Cosafa under-20 twice in 2016 and 2019, we have won the Cosafa under-17 twice in 2017 and 2019 this is a team that had never had never won Cosafa before. PRISON LEOPARDS FOOTBALL CLUB UNVEILS REDESIGNED LOGO

Kabwe based National Division side Prison Leopards Football Club has announced that effected some changes on the Club's logo with immediate effect. According to statement, the Prisons Leopards Media Officer Kingsley Kunda says this is in a bid to align it to its main sponsors the Zambia Correctional Service and as a way of showing identity of the sponsors through the new emblem. The new changes include the replacement of the Leopard with an eagle in an effort to depict the image of both the club and the service and also to rebrand the logo to give it a new outlook.

MICHO CLOSE TO PICKING FINAL AFCON AND CHAN SQUADS

Zambia National Soccer Team coach Milutin Sredojevic says he is closer to having his final teams for the back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana and also the African Nations Championship (CHAN). Micho, who is currently drilling 42 local players says his will trim the current number of players to 30 after this week’s assessment at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium. “We have overall 52 players, 10 of them are absent due to competitive duties and 42 are here, 36 in-field players and six goalkeepers. From this number of 52 we shall go down 24 field players and four goalkeepers that will start next Monday 9th March camp. That will culminate in the match against Malawi that we are playing on Wednesday,” he said.
